•For acute and subacute pain, the guidelines recommend non-drug therapies first, such as modalities, applying heat, massage, dry needling, spinal manipulation and strengthening exercises etc. which is often done by a manual physiotherapist.
•Only NSAIDs and muscle relaxants can be given on the patient’s request.
