About a month ago, I finally decided to visit a psychologist to address my mental health. It took a lot of courage for a first timer, but my experience with her was so pathetic that it will take some time before I can make up my mind again. First of all, I had to wait for more than half an hour till I finally got to see her. This built up more anxiety and nervousness in me. When I was called for the session, I noticed two ******** sitting on a bench beside the door. I was startled why these people were sitting in a room for a therapy session as it's meant to be completely confidential and a patient comes with the thought of keeping their privacy intact. Upon asking, Ms Shweta casually told me that they are interns and they'll be sitting through the session. To which I said that I wasn't comfortable and that's when they were asked to leave. Now my session started very abruptly because I didn't know how to go about it and I was not given any instructions on how the session would unfold. So I had to ask that myself. From the beginning I didn't feel comfortable and the interruptions in-between the sessions made it worse. Ms Shweta was calling on phone to ask for green tea, water, scheduling other appointments and even the support staff kept entering the room and the counsellor expected me to continue speaking in front of them. I was disappointed but I still kept going without raising it. And before I could take a moment to understand what her inputs were, she said that we need to wrap the session and listed the same things on paper that I had been telling her from my side. So all-in-all after more than half an hour of waiting, the session barely lasted for 30 minutes. Neither could I share everything and neither did she provide her inputs in a professional way.
