I honestly don’t have enough words to describe how extraordinary Dr. Sachin Arekere Nataraj is. He is not only a world class urologist and robotic surgeon but also one of the most humble, compassionate *** **** ** ***** people I have ever met.
From the very first consultation, he gave us so much time we needed. He explained every possible situation with patience . what could happen if we chose surgery, what might happen with radiation, and what the outcomes could be in each case. There was no rush, no pressure only kindness, clarity, and deep understanding.
After the PET-CT scan, Dr. Sachin personally called us to the hospital to share the wonderful news that the cancer had not spread outside the prostate and that surgery (robot-assisted radical prostatectomy) was the best option. That personal gesture alone showed how much he truly cares for his patients.
On the day of surgery, he came to meet us before entering the OT, reassuring us warmly. After the operation, he met us again, explained everything clearly, even showed us the prostate specimen, and guided us through the next steps of recovery.
The very next day, Dr. Sachin visited the patient several times . He personally removed the dressing, helped my father stand and walk, even opened the door for him with a smile. These small gestures spoke volumes about his humility and humanity.
Then came a moment I will never forget. One day, I had stepped out to the canteen when Dr. Sachin came to see my father. He called me, but I missed the call. Most doctors would have just moved on but not him. Instead, he went to the nurses’ station, found a Bengali nurse, and brought her along so that my father could understand every instruction clearly in his own language. This thoughtful act moved us deeply. It showed that Dr. Sachin doesn’t just treat his patients he truly cares for them.
Even after discharge, when we reached home, he personally called again to ask how my father was doing. Despite being such a busy and accomplished surgeon, he still finds time to follow up and show genuine concern.
We came all the way from Bangladesh more than 3,000 km away to consult Dr. Sachin, and we can proudly say it was completely worth it. He is an outstanding doctor with a golden heart. His professionalism, humility, and compassion are beyond words.
