I was suffering from this jaw pain for a long time I had shown to Dentist in Roorkee, who advised me for Physiotherapy and some medication, after some sessions issue settled down. I think it was then the starting of the TMJ issue, had my dentist diagnosed properly then I would not have reached this stage when suddenly one day in September 2022, I was unable to open my mouth and it was so much painful, I approached my regular dentist who said it was a muscular problem and gave muscle relaxant which did help me as I could eat now. The spasms still continued especially at the right side and my mouth could not open freely as the jaws would pain. I was getting constant jaw locking issue and pain. Whenever I used to open my mouth wide (for eating or yawning) there was unbearable pain. I had no idea what was the trouble, sometimes in the middle of the night the spasmodic pain would start and I could not sleep. My regular dentist would tell that its muscular and will sort itself This continued for some time and I consulted few more Dentists in Roorkee but to no avail. On recommendation of one of the Dentist I got an OPG done but that could not help diagnose, I even visited ENT specialist as the pain was continuous and would radiate from my right ear and downwards, he too could not provide me any permanent relief.

In November 2022, I visited my Dentist friends Dr. Puneet Kalra & his wife Dr. Shivani Kalra at Bikaner and he advised to carry out CBCT of TMJ, It was then the actual problem was diagnosed. Since I could not stay long and it required repeated visits, so they recommended me to visit Dr. Richa at Gurugram.

I spoke with her on 6.12.2022 and shared the CBCT reports, after thoroughly studying the same she called back and gave an appointment and advised to carry out some tests and MRI of the TMJ for thorough understanding and root cause analysis. She had understood the underlying problem.

So on 13.12.2022 was my first appointment. She thoroughly examined me and explained the whole issue. Dr. Richa briefed me the treatment procedure stepwise and assured that though its a lengthy treatment involving several visits but will provide relief in due course of treatment and time. She also assured that the quality of life would be better surely. but gradually. Not to expect results overnight as the joint deterioration has happened gradually.

It is now 2 months of treatment at Dental Concept, and there is improvement in my condition after regularly using the splints/night guard and timely and regular visits. After each visit Dr. Richa and her staff would ensure to call for feedback and updates and would explain the importance of wearing the splint/night guard regularly. My overall condition is now better than what it was 2 months ago. Its still a long way to go and I am committed for it.

I would recommend to consult Dr. Richa for treatment If you're suffering from TMJ/locked jaw issue, clicking sound of the jaw or restricted opening of the mouth, all these could be associated with disorder of the TM Joint - and she has the knowledge and expertise. She will surely help set the expectations right and ensure the treatment moves forward in the right direction and help improve the quality of life.

It was in Aug'21 when I was getting constant jaw locking issue. Whenever I used to open my mouth wide (eating or yawning) the jaw used to lock, and then close with loud click and pain. I had no idea what was the trouble and chose to ignore it initially thinking this'll sort itself. But by Nov'21 the problem was escalating and frequency increased to a lock every 15-30mins. I consulted a general physician who asked to consult a dentist for this issue. That is when I approached Dr. Richa for my problem, and explained to her what is happening. She understood the problem in a single meeting and advised some tests. After looking at the reports the treatment started. Its a long treatment, and Dr. Richa introduced the entire process to me, explained the potential risks of leaving this untreated and then initiated the treatment. I never had to follow up on the next step as Dr. Richa and her staff ensured to call me for next consultation whenever it was needed. Entire treatment and associated costs were informed to me before initiating anything

The jaw locking issue near vanished in the next 2-3 months, but the treatment continued as it was also necessary to ensure nothing repeats going forward. She was honest enough to admit that certain precautions will need to be followed forever now.

My experience with Dr. Richa Dhanda has been phenomenal. Thanks to her, dental checkups have neither been painful nor scary. Dhandas are thorough professionals and experts at their job. The fact that such detailed engagement has grey areas with various options to be evaluated, it helped that Dr. Rishi and Dr. Richa Dhanda discussed and debated them openly.

As much as it is important that the patient's concerns with regards to pain, cost, etc. need to be taken care of, it is also important to overrule what the patient wants if it is in the interest of the patient. And this is something that Dr. Richa and Dr. Rishi Dhanda did convincingly.

For me, the procedures are Life-Changing because my dental attrition started 12-15 yrs back and led to a severe loss of tooth structure/tissue caused by tooth-on-tooth contact.

Had gone to Dr. Richa with a clicking jaw and jaw pain which she accurately diagnosed to be TMJ disorder. Within a few visits she was able to realign/correct my jaw which got rid of all of the pain and prevented any further jaw damage.
