Dr. Shibal Bhartiya

I have been a patient of Dr Bhartiya for over three years now. I am now 85 and have been getting regular treatment from her for my Glaucoma since I returned to India from the Philippines in 2022.

In the Philippines I was under treatment for glaucoma for some 22 years and feel that I am adequately qualified to compare the treatment given by my ophthalmologists in the Philippines, in India (including at the Shroff Eye Centre and the Center for Sight in Gurgaon) and by Dr Bhartiya, who was working in Fortis Gurgaon when I first met her in December 2022.

The attention that Dr Bhartiya paid to my eye problems has been far superior to the attention that I got from my other doctors in the Philippines and in India. In her dealings with me she has shown a lot of patience and compassion in listening to my eye problems. She has also willingly provided me, after my appointments, the necessary follow up advice regarding my eye problems whenever that was needed.

During all these years I have also observed her patience and excellent crowd management skills when working under pressure. Even when there were many patients, I am particularly pleased to note that there was never any delay of more than 30 minutes in seeing me from my appointment time. Her management skills are well depicted in her ably managing not only the ophthalmology department but also other areas of her work such as for International Institute of Neuro and Spine and the Community Outreach and Wellness programs.

I am thus highly satisfied with the professional services that I am receiving from Dr Bhartiya and wish her a very successful career ahead.

Dr. Shibal Bhartiya was one of the kindest doctors I've seen. My eyes were looking quite red and were itching a lot. My AI assistant told me it was dry eyes and suggested Dr. Shibal as the appropriate doctor to go to in my area. I did not have to wait at all, and it was a very pleasant experience. It’s been about four years since I went through it, and I’ve had multiple complications with my eyes, including severe dry eye syndrome, meibomian gland dysfunction, lid keratinization, and significant corneal damage.

Since last November, as advised by Dr. Shibal, I started using autologous serum eye drops. It’s been around five to six months now, and I’ve seen meaningful improvement in my healing journey. One eye responded exceptionally well, while the other is improving more gradually—but overall, there has been clear progress.

I’ve noticed a reduction in photophobia, and the corneal healing, especially in one eye, has been quite remarkable. Most importantly, it has made day-to-day life much more comfortable.
