Dr. Hemi Soneja

DEGREES/ TRAINING:Dr. Soneja done her MBBS from Maulana Azad Medical College in 2002. This was followed by further Post Graduate Family Medicine training from Guthrie Clinic, Pennsylvania, USA. She then did her training in Obesity Medicine and is certified with American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM). She is a Diabetologist, having trained in Diabetes management from the USA and obtained Diploma in Diabetes and Endocrinology from the UK. Prior to this, she was Consultant Diabetes and Obesity Medicine at University Hospitals, Cleveland, USA. She also holds International Certification in Longevity Medicine from American Academy of Anti-Ageing Medicine (A4M). CLINICAL EXPERTISE/ INTERESTS:Dr. Soneja has a global experience in managing lifestyle related conditions like Obesity and Diabetes. Her special interests are Childhood Obesity and preventive medicine. She believes in providing a comprehensive care for her patients seeking weight management and management of associated conditions like diabetes, high BP, cholesterol, thyroid disorders, PCOS, menopause, etc. She has had extensive experience in managing complicated Diabetes including those needing insulin pumps. She runs comprehensive medical weight management programs for patients. She also sees patients before and after Bariatric Surgery for continued medical management after surgery. At her center she aims to provide comprehensive care of each patient with the team of nutritionist and Bariatric Surgeon as well. ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE:Dr. Soneja has been an active teacher both for her junior doctors and patients. She is also a Faculty in Post Graduate Diploma in Obesity Medicine and MSc at University of South Wales, UK. She conducts regular Diabetes Self Management Education sessions for patients. She has been an avid researcher and has worked at Birmingham Hospital, UK, as Clinical Research Fellow and published several papers in international journals. She has also presented her research papers on Diabetes and Obesity at American Diabetes Association and American Society of Bariatric Physicians.
