Visited For Meniscus Injury
I had went in with an existing diagnosed problem of meniscus tears in both knee including minor deformity in the structure giving me a long term pain in the knees. The doctor took a very unbiased approach, understood my symptoms first, looked at the tests and told me my options. He was very pragmatic in explaining the options and also mentioned the success rates of each options frankly. Overall, I had a very good visit. Following are the pros and cons.
What went well?
- Doctor gave an excellent description of the problem, the potential options and success rate of the options in a way I would understand
- He went out of his way to arrange for a laptop to see the MRI, X-Ray images I was carrying in a CD
- He devoted ample time to me. Overall, he interacted with me for more than 45 mins
- Do not expect an Apollo/Fortis like facilities but the Doctor is at par if not better than the doctors of the large hospital chains.
What could be better?
- When I arrived, I had to wait for almost 30 mins to see the doctor. Probably, because he was giving enough time for the last patient. I believe it might be better to keep the appointment for 30 mins rather than 15 mins in cases of ortho care
I have been consulting Dr. Gurinder Bedi for many years. He is one of the rare doctors who truly puts patients first despite his fame. He is a very good clinician.
