Dr. Atul Mittal is a gem of a person and a fantastic doctor. He listens very intently and his diagnosis is spot on. He is very patient. He does not give unnecessary medication and tries to resolve the ailment from the root. I used to get recurrent nasal allergies and sinusitis. But ever since I started going to Dr Atul, my recurrence of such issues has reduced immensely. I would recommend him any day.

To avoid long waiting I took the appointment in advance. But to my surprise when I went there the lady managing the patients was just writing names in the order anyone arrives. I didn’t say anything that time assuming that she will take care of the appointment time while sending patients inside. But then I saw some patients even going inside out of the list also. Then I questioned the lady that how is the queue being managed and she didn’t have any answers except please keep voice low and don’t question us (we are super humans). Then I finally raised my voice on seeing this inequality and finally hearing our voice the Doctor came out and now is the best part. I told the doctor that she is not able to manage the things properly but doctor replies in a rude manner she is doing really good and if you can’t wait then please leave and get out. I never expected such words from a doctor who is asking patient to get out. Visited For Earache

I visited the doctor for chronic earache. Doctor instantly suggested I should go for septoplasty for sinusitis. Believing in the doctor, I went for it *** **** ****** ****** **** **** **** **********
On the form that needs to be signed right before operation, I noticed doctor had modified my symptoms to - patient complained of persistent nasal blockage. There was no mention of ear ache. This was right before I was being taken to operation theatre, so there was not much to be done at the moment. But I made a mental note, that this was not right.
2-3 years later I again visited the same doc for the same issue - and voila - doc suggests I should go for the same procedure (not noticing he had done the same process on me a while back.
6 years forward, I continue to have ear aches and now even face chronic nasal blockage. Will look for a new ENT soon.
Smaller points -
- Throughout the meetings - pre and post procedure - doctor barely listened to my symptoms/issues and just said his own thing.
- He was consistently late and indifferent about it.
- On one occasion I confirmed twice before coming for appointment. When I went, the receptionist said he is coming in 5 mins - that went on for half an hour. Receptionist checked with him, and informed he was in OT and it eventually took over an hour. On arriving he tells receptionist - oh why didn't you tell me patient was waiting. As if it was all receptionist's error.
- On one occasion, while I was in OPD he was on phone for half the time - *** ***** *** *** *** ******** ** *** *********** **** **** ***** ********
Visited For Septoplasty

I visited the doctor at Fortis Gurgaon and he instantly suggested me to go for Septoplasty and FESS as my Sinusitis had persisted for 18 years. I instantly agreed to go for it ** * **** ** *** *** **** ****** working at a prestigious hospital from whom i can have my surgery. After the surgery, complications started developing and my right nostril would block. The doctor told me that my nose was sticking inside, so every-time i would visit for a follow up, the doctor would spray some local anaesthetic and separate the parts that have stuck. It caused enormous pain and suffering. I had no issues with it as i felt that not every surgery results in 100 percent success and i was regularly visiting him for getting rid of these complications. Finally he told me that i was free of complications and everything is in good shape. I felt better for about 10 months and then i was struck by running nose this winter. I felt it would go away in few days but it doesn't get better. The mucus is very thick and smelly. Now i'm feeling the pain in my frontal sinus and it seems the mucus has again accumulated and blocked my sinuses. This is very disappointing for me as i have spent 10 times the amount that a Sinus surgery would cost at many hospitals,Clinics *** ***** *** ****** *** **** ****** This is depressing and i'm worried.

I am visiting him since last 4 years for my sinus allergy issues or any throat issues, he is so experienced that without even telling him details he understands the entire problem and prescribe accordingly.
I am quite happy with my sinus surgery, I was literally feeling death situation
He doesn’t need any feedback as per me as he is highly experienced and smart enough to catch the root cause in few seconds.

I have had decent interactions with Dr. Mittal. I wish, though, that he would (a) listen more and (b) talk about what is going on, and what to do in more detail. The moment he gives his diagnosis, he starts with his paperwork, and it becomes hard to ask questions. It would be much nicer if he is talking facing the patient and ensures that the patient understands all aspects of what is wrong, as well as details of what he is recommending.
