Dr. Murali Subramaniam

Dr. Murali Subramaniam FRCS (Ed), FRCS(Gen & Vasc) graduated from Madras Medical College. Subsequently, he underwent surgical training in General and Vascular surgery at the University of West Indies and a higher surgical training program in Glasgow, UK. His research at Glasgow University was a success and was based on the use of stem cells to cure diabetes and Parkinsonism. This work was then carried over to the Imperial College, London and appeared in leading surgical journals across the world. He was nominated for the prestigious Medawar medal by the British Transplantation Society in 2004. He undertook an Endovascular Fellowship at University College, Galway, Ireland.He returned home in 2010 with a vision to practice Vascular Surgery in an ethical and evidence based manner, after giving up the opportunity to practice as a consultant in the UK. Over the past three years Dr. Subramaniam has a growing body of grateful patients who were advised major surgical procedures in other centres but were treated with non surgical measures and are now enjoying a healthy life. He also performed several challenging surgical procedures which were turned down by other institutes.He has a great interest in instrument design, one of his original designs is about to be commercialized soon. History of medicine is one of the topics which has always fascinated him. He is currently in the process of writing a book.In addition to his profession, Dr. Subramaniam and his family have adopted a village 35kms away from Gurgaon. He conducts free medical camps for residents of the village and provides support for residents towards improving their quality of life.
