Dr. Rohit Garg was born in Budhlada, a small town in Punjab. After completing his preliminary education in Chandigarh, he did his M.B.B.S from B.J Medical College, Pune and did his M.D in Psychiatry from King George Medical University, Lucknow. He is a self-made man who struggled hard to accomplish his dreams. He after completing his M.D, worked for 3 years in All India Institute Medical Sciences (AIIMS) specializing in De-Addiction and Rehabilitation. He now specializes in adult, child and geriatric disorders after having done immense research work and using new techniques like Repetitive Trans Magnetic Stimulation and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. He has been invited by various T.V and radio channels to spread awareness about mental disorders. Being born and brought up in a humble background makes Dr. Rohit understand the needs and challenges faced by the poor people, he has done charitable work in different parts of India like Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, U.P and Delhi and on every Tuesday he has a charitable OPD at his clinic. More than all the awards and recognitions, which he has achieved including one of the best doctors awards in India by Medihealth magazine in 2011 and 2013 and Rajiv Gandhi Rashtriya Ekta Samman Award to name a few, Dr. Rohit Garg values his patient’s recovery and wellness more. He has seen more than 10,000 people free of cost on a charitable basis and most of his patients remember him for his patience and understanding, where he values the human life above everything else. His staff and associates respect him because of his hardworking and down to earth mannerism.
I was requested to share my worries for which I visited clinic to the assi. Doc. That is the practice all over, I was aware but since I had tried detailed, healthy, rich counselling by Dr. Shirisha Sathe from Pune, she kept me alive these years! Very good friend of mine.
I consulted Dr.Garg for my Mumma in November 2014 for the first time. She was in a very miserable condition then and it was worsening everyday. Based out of Kolkata, we had consulted 3 good doctors here in 7 months, but she wasn't showing any signs of improvement.. wasn't responding to the medicines and it was getting very difficult. We did not know where to go next and were really tensed and helpless.
Dr. Rohit Sir is not only one of the finest psychiatrist but also the nicest. I interned under his guidance for a month and I learned so much about about psychiatric disorders and how to help people and genuinely care for them.
I Ws being different.it Ws too exhausting sometimes.there was some kind of sadness which made me feel bad.My mind kept saying to me that may be its just a phase that is going to pass.that is when a relative of mine encouraged me to seek professional help. She caught my symptoms and fixed up an appointment with Dr.Rohit.I Ws diagnosed with GAD.he gave me information abt my condition.Knowledge helps in overcoming fear.He came across as a wonderful human being.he invoked in me the courage n strength which I had lost.He was kind and gracious to hear n answer my queries.I am sure I must have annoyed him with my questions but he very patiently cleared all my doubts.he is a blessed soul n I'm thankful to my stars that I met him.Silent work speaks louder.I respect him for the work he is doing, touching so many lives.he appears to be so certain,so clear.I still believe there is hope.Hope is such a wonderful word.dreams are such lovely anchors.Tomorrow shall not be just another day.So till then just hang on to the Rope of Hope:))
