Zukanorm m50/ 500 mg and breastfeeding
Hello Doctor, I'm diabetic and my doctor advised me to take Zukanorm m50/500 mg tablet to control the blood sugar levels. I'm also breastfeeding my 18 months old daughter. I checked with my diabetic doctor if it is safe to take this tablet during breastfeeding. He said yes it is safe. Just wanted to confirm the same with an expert paediatrician. Please do let me know if it is safe.

Thank you for your question. This medicine contains two ingredients: vildagliptin and metformin Metformin is safe fir breast feeding But vildagliptin has not enough safety reports as studies are not that much till date though till now it is found it in in the low risk level. So this topic is debatable. Hope this is ok
