My nails look yellowish in colour. And also the nail strength is very less. Nails keep breaking. And also it pains when I touch my nails. What could be the reason for this. Is it a sign of deficiency. If yes what should I consume to overcome this problem

You may be having a fungal nail infection. It can be treated with antifungals for 3 to 6 months. If it is due to some other cause treatment will vary. Biotin supplements help in having shiny thick nails with good strength. However if the underlying problem is not treated there is no use of taking supplements. Please visit a dermatologist near you to get yourself diagnosed and treated. Warm regards. Dr. Rajdeep Mysore. Chirag Hospital Bangalore
