Will folitrax affects my wife pregnancy
Hello,
I am taking folitrax from 2.5 years as suggested by dermatologist for psoriasis(15mg per week). I had a sexual intercourse with my wife(with condom). I don't know the fault, she got pregnant now.
Will it be any problem for baby, what action i have to take. Please suggest.

Hi.It should have ideally been stopped if you were planning for a baby but since u mentioned it was accidental,you cant be blamed.Methotrexate is known to deplete folate levels in unborn child but no studies suggest congenital malformations.An Ultrasound of your wife will confirm the findings.Hopefully u will have a healthy baby.Visit a Gynaecologist and tell him/her about this issue.She will do an Ultrasound and confirm if there is anything to worry about with the baby.All the best👍
