Hi doctors,
I am trying to learn and understand more about ABPA (Allergic Bronchopulmonary Aspergillosis).
If ABPA is left untreated, will the fungus (Aspergillus) keep multiplying and increasing in number inside the lungs, or does it just cause allergic inflammation and lung damage without increasing the fungal growth?
If both happen — fungus multiplies and lungs get damaged — please mention how fast this happens, if possible in terms of ABPA-specific IgE levels (ku/l) or any other useful indicator.
Please explain in simple terms. Thank you. 🙏
