What are the causes of gestational diabetes?
I’m a 32 year old man and my wife is 5 months pregnant. She has been showing symptoms of high BP and sugar levels. When we went for a checkup, we came to know that she may be diabetic due to her pregnancy. What causes gestational diabetes? Can it affect my wife or my kid? How should I take care of her? Are there any preventive measures?

Pregnancy itself is a diabetogenic state ..previous history of raised blood sugars, any family members having diabetes, genetic predisposition all lead to higher chances of gestational diabetes mellitus.. if kept under control not much of problems will happen
