Watery liquid discharge from nose
Hello Doctor When ever I bend down there was watery liquid discharge from the nose. I am having this issue for more than a year. Moreover I m having a constant headache daily and there was ringing sound in the ear which I hear all time. I went to a ENT doctor last year and asked to undergo a procedure to eliminate CSF which I didn't undergo bcoz of fear. Kindly let me know whether this can be cured without the procedure. Thank you Regards Sunil Anselm Rozario

From your history it seems like CSF Rhinorea. You need to get thoroughly investigated and the defect repaired to avoid recurrent meningitis

Does the watery fluid leave a ring on your cloth? Kindly notice next time. Do you have any history of Road traffic Accident or any trauma to head? Do you have any history of meningitis in your childhood? Your next course of action is to get a CT Nose and PNS with Sagittal, Coronal and Axial cuts OR an MRI with Gadolinium of the Nose & PNS to detect the skull base defect and a Beta-2 transferrin examination of the Nasal discharge to confirm a CSF leak. Do not worry, your problem is curable. Kindly consult through Practo to clear your doubts.

If its daignosed CSF leak u shd follow your doctors advice. He must have told you the site and reason of CSF leak. Leaving it unattended and searching for escape may complicate the problem. Kindly discuss abt your fear with your surgeon in detail and get the procedure done.
