Hi,
From a psychological perspective, it's concerning that your husband and in-laws are disregarding your mental health and the treatment prescribed by a medical professional. Mental health conditions, including depression and bipolar disorder, are complex and require individualized treatment approaches.
It's essential for your family to understand that mental health treatments are not one-size-fits-all, and what works for one person may not work for another.
Their refusal to acknowledge your medication and mental health needs may stem from misconceptions or stigma surrounding mental illness. It's not uncommon for individuals to have misunderstandings about psychiatric medications and to harbor biases against those with mental health conditions.
Next Steps
family therapy or mediation could be beneficial in facilitating constructive communication and addressing underlying issues within the family dynamic. Ultimately, it's crucial for you to prioritize your mental health and seek support from mental health professionals who can provide guidance and support during this challenging time. Remember that you deserve understanding, respect, and access to appropriate mental health care.
