Sir/mam i want to know abt the lamatrigene medicine...doctor give me it for depression...but my inlaws mentally harras me that it is a dangerous drug...it is only given a person who have bipolar ,seziure etc...they defame me that she has some severe mental problem...even they want divorce bcoz of lamatrigene...plz help

Tell them to stop goggling . One drug can have many uses. Don't believe everything you read or hear. Yes lamotrigine is an antiepileptic drug
But that doesn't mean it will be given for that particular disease only. In other words if person is taking it ,it doesn't mean that he/she is suffering from that disease.
Let me give u an example , OCP s are they only used for contraception ??
Ans:NO, it also used in girls to treat PCOS, USED FOR IRREGULAR MENSES, TO DELAY MENSES, IN PREMENOPAUSAL WOMEN ALSO .

Little knowledge is a bad thing....., it's very much true in your case.
Lamotrigine is also a Mood stabilizer. And depression is a mood disorder.
Not every case is the same. Some patients need unconventional drugs to treat their condition .
And this drug is safe in women of reproductive age. It's also safe in preg and while breastfeeding.
Explain them...
It's inhumane to harrass someone for her medical condition.
