Unilateral vocal cord palsy leads to initial breathy hoarse voice which usually recovers within few months. Most of the patients regain almost normal voice. If your voice is still very breathy and hoarse then you need to undergo surgery known as thyroplasty. Which usually gives excellent results when performed by a experienced surgeon
