Viral fever and vomiting symptoms
Hi, my brother got admitted to hospital yesterday complaining of high fever, vomiting. He was given injection and drip alongwith few medicines and was discharged yesterday. It was well till today evening but now fever is again coming along with weakness. Should we admit him to hospital for one entire day or wait till tomorrow morning to complete the dose. Thank you Tanmay.

Hello Tanmay, I understand your concern! It’s not easy to take decision for admission specially during night hours. If your brother has any of these features, admit him - high grade fever with rigors, excessive vomitings with dehydration, severe worst ever headaches, rashes, altered behaviour or senses, talking inappropriate , breathless or too much anxious. If you see any unusual features then consult right now. If he looks stable and has just low grade fever then u can give him paracetamol and plenty of fluid to avoid dehydration. He must have investigated yesterday so if possible consult the same physician today also. Hope u r able to make decision now .
Next Steps
Lots of fluid and rest
