Hello, is a common, self limiting condition that is typically caused by adenovirus. Viral conjunctivitis is highly contagious, usually for 10-12 days from onset as long as the eyes are red. You should avoid touching your eyes, shaking hands, and sharing towels, Its a self limiting disease and cured on its own . you can use topical vasonstrictor or antihistaminics to control itching.
