You may require painkillers to control the pain from the leg. You need to meet a general surgeon to evaluate and undergo further investigation to note the status of the varicose veins. You may require surgery by either stripping or by laser ablation. These steps may help with controlling the varicose veins better: - Avoid standing for long periods, take regular breaks from standing - Use compression stockings as it gives relief and helps in control of varicose veins by improving the circulation. - Exercise regularly by doing exercises such as walking - Maintain a healthy weight as per your BMI - Do not sit with the legs crossed - While you sit or sleep, keep your feet raised on a pillow Visit a general surgeon if the problems worsen
