Despite vaginismus you can conceive even at home. For pregnancy it is not essential to have sexual intercourse. The penis acts as a dropper to bring semen in vagina. You can use your finger to take semen and smear it at the vaginal opening. Vaginismus can prevent the couple from consummating marriage. See animated pictures of vagina at mydoctortells dot com and the steps given by sexologist that may help you and your husband accomplish both sex as well as conception. Best wishes,

Dear Practo user, In case, you have not consulted Gynaecologist, consult one. One should try to get get free of Vaginismus first. Scanning need not be done under anaesthesia. There may be a psychological block in your case due to which you are facing this problem. Counseling will help. One of the basic test for infertility evaluation is Hysterosalpngography. In your case, instead laparohysteroscopy would be better. This is done under anaesthesia. If Husband's semen analysis and basic tests are normal, one can opt for IUI in case of Vaginismus.
