Vaccines after SILK/Lasik
It's been 5 weeks since I got my SILK eye surgery. Can I get following vaccines now? - HPV (Gardasil 9), Hepatitis A, Flu and Rabies vaccine. First three are due for regular immunisation and rabies shot I might need to get as my pet dog scratched me but im little anxious of side effects to eyes. One of my eyes is still healing as the vision is not completely clear. Can any of these vaccines cause ocular inflammation or delay/hamper my recovery? Also im taking Cequa eye drops, can it reduce vaccine effectiveness? Pls suggest, will be grateful for your advice.

Nothing to worry about, there's no correlation between the two. You can get vaccinated.

None of the vaccines you've listed — HPV (Gardasil 9), Hepatitis A, Flu, or Rabies — are known to cause ocular inflammation or interfere with SILK/LASIK recovery. These are systemic vaccines with no direct effect on corneal healing. Cequa (cyclosporine 0.09%) is a topical eye drop and does not meaningfully reduce systemic vaccine effectiveness. The rabies vaccine is especially important if your dog scratched you — please don't delay it.
Next Steps
Start rabies PEP (post-exposure prophylaxis) immediately if not already done — Day 0, 3, 7, 14, 28. The other vaccines can also be taken safely now. Mention your surgery to the vaccinating doctor for documentation. If you notice any new eye redness, pain, or vision change after vaccination, report to your ophthalmologist promptly.
