Any vaccine amongst the available ones can be taken with minimal risk. Both the vaccines are comparable with respect to efficacy and have similar side effect profile.
Just be mindful about the vaccination schedule as it is different for different vaccines.

Both are effective.
Both are safe.
Covaxin second dose is at 4 weeks and covishield at 12 weeks.
WHO has not yet approved covaxin, so if planning International travel, covishield is better.
