Urine retention after CSection
Hi Doctors, My wife delivered son by C-Section on 28th April but soon after surgery she developed urine retention issue as in she is not able to empty the bladder and that caused swallow stomach and stain on stitched after that same gynecologist advised for 10 days catheterization which she removed on 14th May but problem was still persisted and again on 15th May she did catheterization for 21 days and advised silofast 8Mg(once in a day) , Urotone (25 Mg Thrice in a day) and Urifast (100 Mg once in a day). Cathedral will be removed on 5th June. We are very tensed wheter we are in right direction or not , please suggest. Thanks

If she doesn't have any spine related issues, this urinary issues usually settles, but it would take a longer time. These medications what has been given may or may not work. It's better to learn clean intermittent self catheterization, so that she can be off the urinary catheter and can take care of herself. Slowly the residual urine would settle. This is generally due to neuropraxia of the pelvis plexus following pregnancy. Recovery always happens, but would take time
