you are 40 yrs and there has been an instance of urine sugar positive whereas your blood sugars are normal.urinary sugar can come positive in either contamination of sample, urine infection,or even after consuming certain fruits which are rich in sugar .fasting sugar after 8-10 hours after your dinner should be less than 100 ,between 100-124 is prediabetes and beyond 125 is diabetes. more so get HBA1C thats the glycosylated haemoglobin if that is less than 5.7 then its normal,5.7 to 6.4 is prediabetic and beyond 6.5 is diabetes.
Next Steps
commonest cause of urine sugar positive is infection and food intake.

Elevated blood glucose levels is the most common cause of glucose excretion in urine.  What were your exact blood glucose values? You need to repeat a urine routine and if urine glucose is still positive, make sure you repeat your FBS, PPBS & HbA1c and a consult a diabetologist in your city.

Hello there. I can understand your concern.  Was were the blood reports like? I mean whats your FBS, PPBS and HbA1c values? Without seeing the reports, how can we say anything.  And also, what you need to do further has already been suggested by your doctor i.e., consult a diabetologist in person for further evaluation and management. Best regards. Dr. Anil kumar jain. Bangalore.
