Unable to bend my finger
I'm unable.to bend my left hand index finger after doing k wire surgery. It's been almost a year till.now. the shape also looks different.. k wire was inserted between the 2 bones to keep.them joined.

Yes x ray required previous and present one Stiffness common if not mobilised early also depending on other factors as type of fracture etc

one year over by this time catilage erosion is there and extra articular adhesions well formed may not get full range

Definitely a physiotherapist would be able to improve your range of motion and for the deformity also some reversal is possible.Line of treatment will be contrast bath,wax/Laser therapy,mobilization and mobility exercises.

Hello there,,,,,where exactly k wire is inserted...is it between the small two joints of the finger or is it between the joint between that of palm & index finger(important to know for the outcome of rehab protocol) ....if you could put in the post operative x ray then exact location can be known......also would like to know weather the finger bends little or is completely unable to bend. Although the period of 1 year is more than enough for the formation of a permanent deformity. But still efforts can be made by a competent orthopedic physiotherapist. It can be mobilised and manipulated to get the range(flexion) and strength... i. e.  Wax therapy +exercises will help if done with patience.

Hello. Well it looks like you are telling that there is deformity after the procedure..It's either that the condition was really bad that only so much could be done... I would suggest you to follow up with the orthopaedician ..Thank you
