Hello sir / ma'am, I want to ask for my 1 yr old Daughter. Is Typhoid vaccine necessary? How much is its efficacy against all strains of bacteria causing typhoid? Since it is a costly vaccine so need your suggestion on the same.

Yes typhoid vaccine is recommended for all children by Indian academy of pediatrics. Because typhoid is a serious disease and a significant public health burden. Vaccine efficacy ranges from 50 to 80 per cent in various studies. It does not protect against Salmonella typhi but not paratyphi.
