When a person suffers from Typhoid and recovers, the antibodies against Typhoid remain for several months. When fever for any reason occurs for the second time, the blood Widal test may be positive because of antibodies from the previous episode. Hence Widal blood test alone is not enough for diagnosis of Typhoid.
