Healing ? V can say control the blood sugar to normal. Our insulin producing betacells of pancreas  get stimulated when medicines are given, work normally for sometime, again become sluggish,so again need some stimulants to revive. Thus insulin production and it's use had to be in a good cycle of physiology, once gets out of the normal cannot be brought back to normal permanently.,it needs frequent stimulants to get revived.Hence again and again v have to depend on medicines to make our betacells produce and use insulin.
