Two year old, not even say mumma papa
Hi, My daughter has just turned 2 in August starting. She does not speak a word. Once for 1 week she said mumma, papa, bye. Now she just says bye, nothing else. She is very active otherwise, we feel she has just started responding to her name. If we try to talk to her, she does not want to listen. She asks everything by pointing. I am really worried, if she has something I am not aware of. Please respond to which doctor I should take her.

The 3 important factors for normal speech development are, firstly,a normal hearing,a normal brain function and normal speech apparatus. The first step would be a hearing assessment. If hearing impairment is ruled out, then other causes can be looked into. Plz consult a good ENT surgeon.
