This query is for my mother aged 55.
Last month she developed a pimple on neck. Doctor suggested for the Mantoux test and by seeing the report doctor suggested that my mother have skin TB. Though, except that pimple, no other signs or symptoms of TB were visible.
I just like to know, is a single Mantoux test is sufficient to determine if it is TB or not, or should I go for other tests? Also, is skin TB curable ?
Please advise.
Thanks

Hi
The swelling needs further testing for confirmation. It depends on the treating physician's decision and patient's willingness to go for further tests.
