TSH Level in New Born Baby (24 day old)
Respected Doctor My baby was born on 5-01-2018 at 36th week of pregnancy.Then he was admitted to NICU as signs of jaundice were seen and discharged on 8-01-2018.Then again on 11-01-2018 he was again admitted to NICU because of jaundice. Then on 12-01-2018 (8th day) doctor did test of TSH, T3 and T4 (report is attached) where TSH was found 10.87 uIu/ml and low T3 thereafter doctor recommended dosage of eltroxin of 25 mcg for 3 years of life due to suspected Hypothroidism & advise us to repea

TSH is a very sensitive indicator of thyroid malfunction. If it's raised,you will have to give the medicine prescribed,but duration varies,depending on cause of hypothyroidism. Plz consult your paediatrician or a endocrinologist.
