Hi first of all I am glad that you took this decision to quite smoking. You need to understand that smoking increases stress levels instead of decreasing them. You must consult and Psychologist as sessions mainly motivation enhancement therapy can really help you and if need be Psychiatrist who can give some medicines.
A few brief tips that I can give are
1. Identify the triggers that are associated with smoking. For eg., triggers that you can’t eliminate, e.g., smoking with morning coffee or driving.Start doing these things without smoking.
2. You may have some cravings and the thought of this may demotivate you but I when you can control your hunger and other biological needs you can definitely distract yourself from the cravings.
3 Start expressing and venting out, talk to someone you can trust about any stressors in your life.
4 Exercise daily, start with a change in lifestyle.
Your health is the most important thing right so now that you have decided go ahead and we are there to help you quit. You can contact me for further discussions. Because I would require a detailed history as well .
