Hello doctor,
I've been having a persistent problem of feeling extremely dizzy after sleeping, taking a nap or even after lying down for a while. Usually in subsides within an hour or after I've eaten something. It's really disorienting. What should I do?
Regards,
M. Banerjee

Your symptoms suggest postural hypotension (low blood pressure upon standing) or reactive hypoglycemia (low blood sugar after sleep). This can be caused by dehydration, low blood pressure, low blood sugar, or an underlying neurological issue.
What You Can Do:
Get up slowly: When waking up, sit on the edge of the bed for a minute before standing.
Stay hydrated: Drink enough water throughout the day.
Eat small, frequent meals: This helps maintain blood sugar levels.
Increase salt intake (if BP is low): But consult before making dietary changes.
Check iron & B12 levels: Deficiencies can cause dizziness.
If this persists, I strongly recommend a detailed consultation to rule out other causes. You can reach me on WhatsApp at eight zero zero nine eight two one three three two.
