Please let us know the exact site of pain- over the buttock , front of the hip , trochanter. Does it radiate down the leg ? Is it painful to touch? Tingling /numbness in the legs ?

Hello dear Thanks for reaching out. If by hip pain you mean outer aspect of thigh, then it would be aptly called Greater Trochanteric Pain Syndrome(GTPS) and bursitis is one of the causes for the same. However, if the pain is more like in the buttocks or groin, and you have difficulty squattiing and cross leg sitting, then it could be originating from the hip joint. A clinical picture marking the site of pain is must along with more details Regards Dr Vipin Gupta

Health Tips

Your symptoms point towards a problem with your hip joint. Could be bursitis as you have mentioned, could also be other things. If your symptoms don't subside with a course of anti-inflammatory medications and rest, I'd suggest a proper evaluation. Feel free to reach out for a direct consult
Next Steps
if symptoms don't subside in a week, formal orthopedic surgeon consult
