Breast cancer for your mother at the age of 55 doesn’t actually increase the risk of you having breast cancer . Can you please give full history cancers in your family? Please consult if have more than one person with an cancer in family , most of the genetic predisposition cancers of breast usually present in younger age . Or if you have multiple people in family with malignancy then also we may consider some test . If you are a normal risk person , then no need of screening at your age . Can start routine screening from age 40-44 years only . You can consult me if you need advise regrading screening , and also if you have doubt regarding risk assessment .
