Hi Doctors My total cholesterol is 197 LDL -124 HDL -38 Triglycerides -252 VLDL - 50.4 Should I need to take medicines or can I control it by food and physical activity Please suggest the way

At this age ideally you need lifestyle modification with aggressive exercise, dietary modification with low fat low oil butter in food. Avoid spicy food, excessive salt in diet. After 4 to 6 weeks we can repeat the lipid profile and the target would be lowering LDL and triglycerides. Even after aggressive management with lifestyle modification and dietary changes these levels do not reduce then we might add you on lipid lowering medications.
