Treatment for lumbar spinal  stenosis
My mom has been diagnosed with L4-L5 spondylolisthesis with diffuse disc bulge causing bilateral mild neural foraminal stenosis and moderate spinal canal stenosis in MRI scan . Due to this spinal stenosis she has been in turn diagnosed with neurogenic claudication due to which she feels severe posterior leg stiffness after change in position from sitting to standing more predominantly in morning and in evening also she gets severe tingling in both feet and also she can ascend the steps and slopes but she can't descend them. Any homeopathic medicine for this condition? Please kindly help

Hello. Spondylolisthesis is a condition in which the bone(vertebra) in the spine moves/slips forward, out of its proper position in relation to the bone below it, while spinal stenosis is narrowing of the spinal canal. Either of this can compress the nerves and cause pain, numbness, tingling, weakness in the back and legs. With detailed case history, a constitutional homoeopathic treatment can release the nerve compression and helps with claudication and other symptoms too. Spinal stenosis with associated leg stiffness, tingling, and difficulty in movements is a chronic condition that needs careful management. In homeopathy, medicines are prescribed based on detailed case-taking—covering symptoms, modalities, general health, and history—not just MRI findings. With the right individualized prescription, many patients experience relief in pain, stiffness, and mobility issues.

Hello, I understand your concern. From your description, your mother has L4–L5 spondylolisthesis with disc bulge and spinal stenosis leading to neurogenic claudication. This is why she is experiencing stiffness, tingling in the legs and feet, and difficulty especially while descending steps or slopes. Conventional treatments often provide temporary relief with painkillers or physiotherapy but do not address the internal root cause—such as nerve compression, weakness in the spine, and degeneration—hence symptoms like tingling, stiffness, and mobility restrictions continue. Homoeopathy works at a constitutional level, improving not only pain and stiffness but also slowing further degeneration. It strengthens the spinal and nerve functions, improves circulation, and reduces tingling and numbness. Treatment is safe, long-term, and tailored to the patient’s overall health, mind, and constitution—not just the MRI findings. At our clinic, we have successfully treated many such cases where patients reported: Reduction in leg stiffness and tingling Better mobility and ease in walking/descending steps Improved quality of life without dependency on painkillers Why a consultation is important: There is no single fixed medicine for spondylolisthesis and stenosis. The correct remedy depends on the patient’s overall constitution, past history, general health, and exact symptom pattern. Hence, to get lasting relief, a detailed case-taking and customised prescription is necessary. You can consult me at Health Global Homoeopathy Clinic, Bangalore, or book an online consultation so we can study your mother’s case in depth and start a personalised treatment plan.
