You should take an appointment with a dentist immediately, it is a cavity which eats its way into your tooth. As a result, it creates a hole-but that hole might not show up right away. Instead, you might see a gray, brown, or black spot instead.
An X-ray should be done to ascertain the extent of cavity and necessary treatment should be planned.
