Hello Dear, As per your description given you have to go for an x ray of that particular tooth. Chances of fracture of the tooth are high as you told there was stone in pan masala. Get it checked from dentist and take the appropriate treatment. Regards, Dr Vishal Jain Faridabad

His tooth might have been cracked by the hardness of the substance that he chewed. Depending upon the extent of fracture, he needs to go for Root Canal treatment or tooth removal

It looks more like a fracture of the tooth from your description but it could also be that there was existing decay and the force of chewing may have opened the inner layer called pulp which has the nerves ...kindly ask him to schedule an appointment with the dentist who will do the needful diagnosis and treatment
Next Steps
visit the dentist immediately
Health Tips
stop chewing paan masala as it is linked to oral cancer

Chewing hard food like pan masala in the long run could lead to fracture of teeth. His pain could be due to fracture or fracture lines extending into tooth nerve area. Visit a dentist asap n get an x ray done to get ur tooth evaluated. He might require rct n capping. Avoid self medications. Meanwhile U can take a pain killer.
