The treatment does not depend upon the whims and fancies of the dentist but according to the present clinical condition of the tooth. Without a look at the clinical condition of the affected tooth, we cannot counter the opinion of the dentist who has performed the clinical examination and will always be the best judge for taking the decision about the treatment. No dentist will ever suggest root canal treatment for such a small child if only a filling can suffice the treatment. You don't need to worry about anaesthesia being administered for a small child because any experienced dentist knows about the pros and cons of this procedure and you need to trust them in the best interest of the health of your child. Moreover the anaesthesia that we are talking about his local anaesthesia and the child will not be sedated for it. And the most important point is that delaying the treatment is making the child suffer in pain continuously and more importantly the damage will also keep on continuing unless treated objectively. Regards
