Tongue cracks
I am facing tongue cracks frequently with white and small red patches like maps at different spots on tongue. When doctor prescribed Benadon tablet for 3-4days, it is treated. I do smoke and drink alcohol and now stopped. Do i need to worry anything related to oral cancer? Please suggest

Map like patches over tongue is called a Geographical Tongue. It could be an anatomical variation. Fissures however suggest that you have Vitamin B12 and folate deficiency. Start a multivitamin supplement rich in these two. Also try to incorporate food rich in B12 and folate in your daily diet. ( eg Curd, Milk, Eggs, Green Leafy vegetables)

These cracks usually appears due to vitamin deficiency.. A detailed history and examination is needed. Kindly consult
