Toddler with sleep problems
Hi , my daughter is 4 years old. She is active and is intelligent. She has however not been able to sleep well right from when she was a child. She had digestion issues which is sorted and she poops at least once in two days if not everyday. She doesn't have allergies. Off late she has been rolling a lot in the night, almost every thirty min and doesn't seem to get enough sleep. She gets up, yawns, goes to sleep, tries to snuggle up but keeps moving through the night. It's worrying me and I'm also losing sleep cos of this. The last three days this has been very bad. She's active in the morning otherwise and no other changes. She always rolled around but it's becoming unbearable now. Is this a cause for concern? A doctor prescribed noctura for ten days which I haven't given yet. I'm worried about side effects if any. Nothing is working. Light meals, no electronics, night lamps, nothing. She used to dream a lot earlier and get up which I understand, but not anymore.

If your child is active in the morning and is not at all drowsy, then she is getting enough sleep. But the general ways that will help to increase night sleep are 1) increase activity in the morning - try sports or physical playing 2) reduce water 2-3 hours before sleep 3) avoid naps during the day
Next Steps
if that doesn't help - can try melatonin (noctura) as the other doctor has already adviced, it's one of the safest medication for inducing natural sleep.
Health Tips
if not able to sleep at all, morning drowsiness is present, better to consult a doctor in person again
