TMJ pain radiation towards the eyes
Hi I have some minor hyper mobility in my jaws which the dentists told me is cuz of wisdom tooth eruption . It returns periodically. The pain is like a dull ache and feels like a muscle contraction . I think it also radiates towards my eyes because it can I am guessing not directly give me terrible eye strain. When the ache goes away my strain also feels better . What should I do ?

Hello, If it is due to the wisdom tooth then removing the wisdom tooth will resolve the problems. Following are the causes of wisdom tooth pericoronitis i.e inflammation of gums around the tooth, soarness of the jaw, difficulty in opening the mouth, difficulty in chewing ,radiating pain towards tmj, dental caries in the neighbouring tooth, crowding by pushing neighbour tooth. Treatment is surgical removal.

Consult a good oral and maxillofacial surgeon. If it is a wisdom tooth issue it can be taken care of. For TMJ issues I’d bite problems are the cause then you might require a consultation with the prosthodontist
