Dear Rahul, avulsion is not critical though but definitely needs to be taken care of. You will take minimum 6 weeks to three months to recover completely. Whenever possible, just try to offload the injured leg, take frequent rests.

Use a proper knee brace/plaater is better. It takes 2 months to get complete union.. Dont bend the knee.. Keep it straight.. Avoid weight bearing on the affected knee..
Next Steps
After the union.. Go to a physiotherapist.. Strenuous & Vigorous exercises for almosrt 2-3 months are needed to get the proper strength +co-ordination +balance +range of motion and to decrease pain.. Take care.

You will take 6-8 weeks to heal at least. In that time you have to keep your knee supported and also in the brace. If you try to flex too much, it may displace the fracture and make it worse. You can walk, but any bending of knee is to be avoided. If the tibial spine heals in the position it was, I.e 3mm displaced, then it will be fine. You will need a lot of physiotherapy to improve strength and range of movement after the splint is removed.
