Thyroid High TSH Value
Hi, Recently I have married and I was having irregular periods. Based on doctor input when I checked for thyroid test my TSH value was 391 muIU/ml FT4 was 0.18 Ng/dl and FT3 was 2.59 pg/ml. My TSH value and FT4 values were beyond the normal range specified. Doctor suggested to take 50mg of Thyroxine Sodium tablet. Wanted to get opinion from others, is the values in Lab report is abnormal and is it cause for my irregular period? And if I take this medication any side effect ll I have interms of baby formation and baby's health in future?. Looking for a valuable opinion. P.S: Before marriage I never had irregular periods.

Hi Yah your reports are abnormal & you have to continue thyroxine 50 mcg daily in empty stomach Definitely thyroid correction is necessary if you plan for a baby The medicine won't cause side effects unless it is in correct dosage So the thyroid level needs to be checked periodically It will cause irregular periods
