Thumb Pain
My left hand thumb got pushed backwards as I was trying to get down the luggage from the shelf. I am not sure if it got dislocated or something. But everytime there is a bit a stretch or anything there is a sharp pain at the base of the thumb.

You might have injured the ulnar collateral ligament at the base of your thumb. Give rest to the affected hand. Use a thumb spica splint.
Next Steps
Consult if there is no relief.

Hi. Based on your history it appears as soft tissue sprain but not dislocation. Rest your thumb for few days, any painkiller tablet/ ointment if necessary. Better to consult directly to examine your thumb if your pain persists beyond a week or aggrevates at any point of time.
Next Steps
As advised
