Throat infection and itching

Asked for Male, 23 Years

I have throat related problem from last 3 weeks. I've consulted two doctors. First doctor somehow give me pain killers, no results obviously. Second doctor from Apollo clinic declared that I am suffering from tonsils and throat infection. Here is the name of medicines she given to me: 1. Cefuroxime axetil tablets. 2. Corex dx cough syrup 3. Defta 6 4. Montair Fx After 7 days of medication still no improvement I can see. I have already stopped eating citrus food as per their guidance. Please help...

You seem to be suffering from post viral cough which is common type of dry cough and throat irritation syndrome after an attack of viral upper respiratory tract infection. Usually it will resolve on its own within few days to week. You may need to take dry cough syrup, strepsils like lozenges and steam inhalation for faster recovery
